Custom Application Enhances Patient Independence

Anelto partnered with Techcelerant’s software experts to build an Android app optimized for telemedicine performance and communication. Despite its rise during the pandemic, telemedicine continues to receive positive feedback from healthcare personnel and patients.

The Approach

The objective was to create and deploy an optimized telemedicine app that serves as a comprehensive resource, providing a rich user experience. Techcelerant’s software designers integrated seamlessly with the Anelto engineering team, participating in regular stand-up meetings and following a Jira workflow.

The app’s custom modules ensure easy navigation of vital patient/provider information while maintaining regulatory compliance. Techcelerant included video tutorials for medical resources, such as glucometers, to assist patients better.

"I was pleased with Techcelerant’s quick start. Our biggest challenge was integrating our custom hardware, but Techcelerant effectively resolved the networking issues," Hurlbert stated.

Techcelerant’s developers chose Kotlin for its efficiency and seamless deployment within Android projects. They utilized the Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM) pattern to organize code into modules, simplifying future developments or updates. Anelto provided Techcelerant with existing app source codes from BitBucket.

The custom telemedicine app enables patients to access providers conveniently, facilitating interoperability and eliminating delays in sharing critical data essential for patient care plans.
